Implementation of the New EU Entry/Exit System (EES) from 12 October 2025
We would like to inform the esteemed members of the Persian Platform Club and the users of E.T.E Visa Limited:
The European Union has announced that, from 12 October 2025, the new border‑control system known as the
Entry/Exit System (EES) will be implemented across all entry and exit points within the Schengen Area.
This regulation directly affects all non‑EU travellers who enter or exit Europe frequently.
🔵 What Is the EES System?
EES is a fully automated and digitalised system designed to accurately record the entry and exit of nationals from non‑EU countries.
It has been created to prevent overstays, enhance border security, and reduce human errors.
🔶 Who Is Subject to This Regulation?
- All travellers from non‑EU countries
- Travellers entering the Schengen Area for short stays (up to 90 days within any 180‑day period)
🔸 Who Is Exempt?
- EU citizens
- Holders of EU residence permits
- Holders of European long‑stay visas (National Visa – Type D)
🔵 What Do You Need to Do?
When entering or leaving the Schengen Area, travellers must:
- Present their passport
- Complete a one‑time biometric registration, including:
- Four fingerprints
- A facial image (Face Scan)
This registration is required only once and does not need to be repeated for future trips.
⏱ Longer Border‑Control Processing Times
Due to the fingerprint and facial‑image recording process, border checks may take longer than usual.
✔ Our strong recommendation: Arrive at the airport at least 3 hours before departure.
Delays at border control may cause missed flights, and airlines will not be responsible in such cases.
🟣 Travelling with Children and Elderly Passengers
The biometric process also applies to children and elderly passengers, but it will be managed by border officers, so there is no need for concern.
